{"id":60,"date":"2018-05-03T16:04:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-03T16:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maximebernier.com\/?p=60"},"modified":"2025-05-15T16:06:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T16:06:37","slug":"liberal-corporate-welfare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maximebernier.com\/fr\/2018\/05\/03\/liberal-corporate-welfare\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberal Corporate Welfare"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>On Tuesday, our party asked an important question to the Innovation Minister, Navdeep Bains.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We wanted to know how many jobs his department had created by handing out 5.5 billion $ in government subsidies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Minister Bains couldn\u2019t say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He had no clue.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, if we are talking about the net number of jobs that are actually creating wealth, I have an answer for him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NONE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, it certainly killed more productive jobs than it created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liberals always see the immediate economic activity that corporate welfare generates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what they fail to see are the jobs that are destroyed by shifting resources from other sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that money had not been taxed away in the first place, it would have been invested by market participants instead of bureaucrats and politicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you believe Navdeep Bains and his bureaucrats should be investing your money in your place?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230204153007\/https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20191023095848\/https:\/\/donate.conservative.ca\/en\/donate-maximebernier\/\" target=\"_blank\">If not, please invest $4.44 in my fight to end corporate welfare<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regards,<br>-Maxime<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, our party asked an important question to the Innovation Minister, Navdeep Bains.
