To be effective, justice must be blind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And our government should be too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The way to solve the injustices of the past is not to create new categories on which to base discrimination. It\u2019s to treat all citizens equally.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s not what the Liberals are doing. They recently tabled a budget where money is allocated on the basis of \u201cintersectional race, gender and sexual identities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\u2019re creating more division and more injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And when I called them out on it, I was told to \u201ccheck my privilege and be quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This wasn\u2019t just another troll on the internet. It came from a Liberal Member of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are people in this government who believe my opinion is less valid because I\u2019m a white man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They believe the government should segregate people based on their gender and skin colour and treat them differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
